Jacob POV-
        I knocked on the door to Bella and Edward's house. Bella had driven me away the last time over a little sexist comment I had said, meant as a joke. I touched my forehead where she had thrown the lamp. My ears listened carefully to the sounds on the other side. I heard Nessie running down the stairs and towards the door. I smiled and tried to dust my clothes off, since I had come back from patrol.
        The door opened and there she was. Nessie was in a yellow sundress even though it was the middle of winter, somewhere in December. Her bronze hair was down to her waist with beautiful waves in it. She looked at me with her bright chocolate brown eyes which stood out against her paler than normal skin. The sun's rays hit Nessie's skin making it sparkle lightly. She smiled at me while I gawked at how pretty she was.
        I saw Bella moving silently to stand behind Nessie. She was wearing a black jacket over a blood red spaghetti shirt and black skinny jeans. Half of Bella's hair was in a ponytail and the other half was down. Edward was next to Bella. He was in a cream sweater and blue wide leg jeans. For a second I wanted to ask what they were doing but didn't because it may lead to an awkward conversation.
        "What do you want Jacob?" Bella asked in a tired voice but I knew that vampires were never tired. I put my hand on my chin like I was thinking when I was really just doing it to annoy Bella even though it wasn't such a good idea at the moment. As I had expected, Bella gritted her teeth and growled lightly at me. Edward smiled, trying to hold back a chuckle.
        "If you came to waste my time-" Bella started in an annoyed voice. I held up my hands.
        "Okay, okay. I'll get to the point." I said. 'No need to get angry.'
        "I wanted to ask for permission to take Nessie out," I said, taking Nessie's hand.
        "Reneesme," Bella sternly stated her official name as she had done many times before. I resisted the temptation to roll my eyes.
        "Anyway, what do you say? Can I take her out for a stroll?" I asked. I already knew the answer to my question by the look on Bella's stern face.
        "No," Bella said. Reneesme looked at her mother with a sad expression.
        "Please Mom. Jacob will take care of me," Nessie said in her sweet voice, trying to convince Bella to let me take Nessie out.
        "No. It's almost evening and you haven't hunted for almost two weeks," Bella replied. I watched as Edward stood there, saying and doing nothing.
        'What do you think?' I thought. He gave a tiny nodded, barely noticeable.
        'At least I have you permission,' I sighed.
        "I'm sorry Jacob, but I'm going to have to have to ask you to leave so I can talk with Reneesme," Bella said, almost slamming the door immediately. I started at the wooden door for a few seconds, probably with a goofy puzzled expression. As I turned to leave I heard Bella's voice with Nessie's. I stayed rooted to my spot and listened to the conversation.
        "Mom! Why can't I go with Jacob?" I heard Reneesme whined, “You have absolutely no reason to keep me confined here.”
        “I’m only doing what I think it best for you,” I heard Bella say calmly.
        “No! You are only keeping me here for no reason. You know that Jacob takes care of me and that I’m completely safe in Forks,” Reneesme countered.
        “Go to your room,” Bella said in an icy voice. I shuddered, glad that I wasn’t on the other side of that conversation, but angry that Bella was keeping Nessie in because she didn’t trust me. Or maybe it wasn’t that she trusted me but that she was acting on her motherly instincts. I sighed about to leave the house when Nessie’s head poked out from the side of the house, she caught me just leaving. And I mean just leaving; I was so ready to change into wolf form that I was on my hands and feet. I, embarrassed, got up. Nessie sighed, touching her collarbones.
        “I’m glad that you’re still here,” Nessie whispered as she took my hand started leading me away from the house. I looked at her puzzled. “I snuck out.”
        “That was quick,” I replied with a goofy smile on my face. Nessie smiled a perfect smile.
        “So where were you going to take me?” Nessie asked. We were far enough from the house that Bella wouldn’t hear us talking, but I was worried if Edward would come and take Nessie back to the house and put her under house arrest. Nessie seemed to know what I was thinking.
        “Don’t worry. My dad isn’t against me and you being together,” Nessie said.
        “Well then, let’s go,” I said turning into a huge russet wolf and started running in the direction that I was going to take her. I heard Nessie’s footsteps behind me as they hit the ground. After about half an hour of running I slowed down when I saw the meadow I had discovered while wandering around when I was suppose to be on patrol. I changed back to human form and grabbed a shirt I had stashed in a bush, earlier.
        I walked toward the meadow, looking towards the sun, glad that it wasn’t visible anymore. The dark night sky was starting to replace the various shades of orange and light blue from the sunset. Nessie walked next to me and stared at the meadow with her mouth slightly opened as if amazed. I was amazed at first too when I first found this meadow. It had long lush grass growing and a huge tree smack dab in the middle. There were a few spots where the grass wasn’t very long and it was a lighter shade of green, but the biggest thin grass part was by the tree. Since it was dark, there were fire flies coming out from the depths of the grass, illuminating the meadow.
        I took Nessie’s hand and walked toward the huge tree. I sat down and held her in my lap. We watched the fire flies for a while, until Nessie wanted to get some. I sat upright as I watched her jump around in her sundress, trying to make it seem like she was having difficulties catching the light bugs when I knew that she could gather many of them in a second. I grinned whenever she looked at me, her face obviously displaying the fun she was having. I got up and hugged her when she let out a loud laugh.
        Nessie looked at me with her innocent brown eyes as I put my hand on her head. She looked up at the stars and seeing an opportunity I bent down and kissed her gently on the forehead. Nessie averted her gaze back to me. She was so cute that I wanted to kiss her but resisted. I would do that after she had matured and I was thinking about age wise.
        “C’mon Nessie. Sadly, I’ve got to get you back to Bella,” I said walking back in the direction of her house.” I took my shirt off with my back facing her and stashed it in a nearby bush. Nessie stayed silent as we headed back to her house. I changed back and refused to come out the forest with only shorts on.
        “See you later Nessie,” I said, touching her flushed cheek with my hand.
        “Yeah, after I get chewed out by my mom,” Nessie replied and then headed towards her house where I saw Bella standing with her arms crossed when Edward opened the door. Before I left, I saw Edward give me a nod of approval. I guess he read Nessie’s mind. I flashed a grin and left.
